SETUP GUIDE
Up and running in 5 minutes.
Talim is designed to be simple. Here's everything you need to get started.
STEP BY STEP
Six steps. None of them long.
-
Download the app
Talim is available on iOS and Android. Both stores host the same app — pick whichever fits your phone.
-
Create your account
Sign up with your email, Google, or Apple ID. We recommend a personal email so your account follows you through every job change.
-
Set your goal
Tell Talim how many professional development hours you're working toward this year. You can change this any time from the Profile screen.
-
Log your first activity
Tap Log, fill in the details — title, date, hours, category — and save. That's it. The activity is in your record.
-
Generate a report
Head to Reports, choose your filters (date range, category, status), and tap Generate. Talim builds a clean PDF you can save, share, or print.
-
Submit to your school (optional)
If your school uses Talim, you can submit any activity directly for admin approval — straight from the activity detail screen.
FREQUENTLY ASKED
Answers to the obvious questions.
-
What happens to my data if I change schools?
Your record belongs to you. When you change schools, your data goes with you. Your former school keeps the aggregate snapshot of what you chose to share while on staff; you keep the full record.
-
Can I use Talim without connecting to a school?
Yes. Solo teachers get the full app with no institutional handshake. School connection is always optional and always reversible.
-
How do I submit PD for approval?
Open the activity, tap Submit to school, and confirm. Your school admin gets an email and can approve or deny from the dashboard. You'll be notified either way.
-
What formats does Talim support for certificates?
Most common image and document formats — PNG, JPG, PDF, HEIC. Attach the certificate to the activity and it stays with the record forever.
