01 / 02 / 03 — THREE PROMISES

What you get, plainly.

  • Your record follows you.

Switch schools, switch districts, switch states. Your hours go with you. No begging an old admin for a transcript. No re-typing five years of conferences into a new system.

  • No school required.

Solo teachers get the full app, free of any institutional handshake. If your district does buy in, you decide what to share and when. School connections are explicit, never automatic.

  • Real records, not stickers.

The export is a transcript you can hand to a state board, not a sticker chart. Streaks are subtle. Leaderboards are opt-in. Your record looks like a professional document because it is one.

02 / FOR TEACHERS

A record that belongs to you, not your district.

For the teacher logging professional development on a Saturday morning before licensure renewal hits.

When you change jobs, your professional record usually stays behind — sitting in a portal whose login expired with your old badge, on a server you don't have access to anymore, in a format that doesn't travel. That's not anyone's fault. It's how the architecture was built.

Talim is built the other way. The app on your phone is yours. The data behind it is yours. The export is a clean PDF you hand to whoever needs it next: a new principal, a state board, a future you trying to remember what you did in 2023.

It doesn't replace your school's professional-development system. It runs alongside it. You log everything in one place, then choose what to share, with whom, and when.

04 / WHAT WE STAND FOR

Yours, by design.

Five positions Talim is built on. Not a feature list. Not a marketing exercise.

Your professional record is yours. Not your district's. Not your principal's. Not ours.

We will not sell individual teacher data. Not now, not at our hundredth customer, not at acquisition.

When a school connects to your account, the connection is a handshake, not a default. You decide what they see, when they see it, and what stays yours when you leave. Yours when you leave matters, because you will leave one day, and your record should still be a record.

We will not gamify a profession. Streaks are subtle. Badges are earned. Leaderboards are opt-in. If you join Talim and never compare yourself to another teacher, you get the whole product.

We will not surface your activity to other teachers by default. Social is a feature you turn on. Quiet is the resting state.

These aren't promises we plan to revisit when revenue gets pressured. They're the architecture of the app — built this way on purpose, instead of the easier way.

03 / FOR SCHOOLS

See your staff's professional development without chasing it.

For administrators who want a real picture of their building's professional growth.

Talim shows you a real-time picture of professional development across your building — workshops attended, conferences logged, certifications in progress, hours by category, broken down by grade, subject, or staff member. You see what's happening as it happens, with no nudge emails to send and no end-of-year compliance form to chase.

The reason this works is the part that surprises some administrators: your school doesn't own the data on this dashboard. Teachers do. They log their professional development on their own phones, in an app that goes with them when they leave, and they choose what to share with the school where they currently work. Membership is a handshake, not a default.

That sounds like a limitation. It isn't. When the record is theirs to keep, teachers keep it current. When it's the school's to demand, they fill it in once a year, the night before the deadline. The architecture is the feature.

When a teacher leaves, they take their record with them. You retain the aggregate snapshot of what they shared while on staff. Both parties leave whole.
